I try to paint everyday, to keep progressing in my art. Sometimes I have only a general idea of the outcome. Just keep doing it until you arrive at just the right place.

The John Walker Gallery presents affordable art. Beautiful drawings of Cape Ann, especially Bearskin Neck and Lighthouses. His painting is in the the style of Plein air impressionism and contemporary impressionism. Each painting is framed with a gold metal leaf frame. The gallery is located on Bearskin Neck. Another way to practice drawing is using a mouse. In one of your image programs, bring up a photo. Then using a tool such as the pencil tool follow the contours with your mouse.
That's right. Just do it. Here is a page that will get you started. You will do some contour drawings of simple objects, by drawing around their edges and feeling those edges with your hand and eyes. You will not look at the paper, because you mustconcentrate on looking. TRY SOME OF THESE EXERCISES and see where it takes you.
I like to use colors that are not particularly the real colors of the scene. I take liberty with these colors because I want to make an original piece of Art, not just a photographic representation. Use the colors that you love. Here is a link to UTRECHT ART SUPPLIES
The Roy Moore Lobster Company is a destination for visitors to Rockport MA, Bearskin Neck. Bring your sketchbook, there's lots to sketch. "Drawing on the Right side of the Brain" is a great book to get you started.Drawing is fun!
It is important to me as an Artist and creator to develop a style that is unique and not like everyone else's art work. This takes a bit of courage. But you need to paint what you love and make it your own visual poetry. Sure, there are many artists that paint in the impressionistic style, but do their paintings look like everybody else's?
